The book, “Positive”, by Dr. Michael S. Saag, MD
Positive tells the story of the life of Michael S. Saag, MD, an internationally known expert on the virus that causes AIDS.
Mike Saag began his medical residency in 1981, just days after the CDC’s first report of the deadly virus. This led to his life’s work of turning the most deadly virus in human history into a chronic, manageable disease.
To recount his journey , Dr. Saag is releasing his first book, “Positive.” Dr. Saag goes into great detail regarding his personal encounters with life, death, and the US healthcare system. “The result is a behind-the-scenes look at how the research happened and was rapidly translated into practice.”
In addition to his new book, Dr. Saag also served as the Guest Editor of the 2014 Updates in HIV and AIDS issues of Infectious Disease Clinics.
